If you’re into gardening like me and you think you don’t have the luxuries of space don’t give up yet. If you also know Plants vs. Zombies then you should have gotten some urban gardening ideas from such phenomenal computer game. The solution that I’m talking about is no other than planters. You can start with a simple window box right in front of your home. These garden window boxes have not only paved the way for a more beautiful house but also added to a healthier and greener environment especially in areas where space is pretty limited. Window plant boxes are not so expensive either. They are easy to manage and you can choose among a variety of ornamental and flowering plants to decorate your home. I’ve always wanted to have a garden or a lawn, but there are things that are just beyond our means. However, when I found out that I can have these planters; my home looks more of a home with some flowers in it. Lilies, roses, daffodils are among my favorites. Though this season, I’m thinking of growing some daisies and chrysanthemums for each window planter. For me planting is really fun and each day becomes more meaningful as I wait for my plants to start bearing flowers.
Being able to buy and install the perfect window boxes for your home may be a good thing to be able to accomplish but figuring out the right plants for those window boxes planters may be a bit trickier than how you think it would be. Even if you got the best looking window box from the store, but if you don’t have the right plants in there, it will never work. Remember that if you are in a warm sun-drenched spot, then seek for drought tolerant plants like gazanias, nasturtiums, moss roses, dusty miller, lantana, ivy leaved geraniums, morning glories, and even zinnias. If you want things to be simple for a place with bright sun and a lot of heat, then consider having some lavender plants in there. The blooms should be exquisite and the scent will definitely be soothing, plus of course the flora would give the most attractive sight as well. If you only got partial shade, then go and put plants in your garden window boxes that will do well in some sun like begonias, fuchsias, impatiens, lobelia, variegated ivy for shrubbery, browallia, snapdragons, dusty miller, coleus, nicotiana, and torenia are just a few that will do well with limited sun.
I had some problems last week on my lawnmower because it broke when I was in the middle of mowing my front lawn. It was really annoying because I have already started doing the errand but it suddenly stopped, again for the third time in a month, and I figured it is all because it is already too old, since the petrol tank was still half full. I immediately just put it back in the garage and I remember Mountfield mowers. I saw their banner one time in some web sites and I remember seeing some nice lawnmowers from Mountfield that I really liked. I immediately visited that web site that sells Mountfield lawnmowers and placed an order for one of their mowers and it just arrived two days ago. I must say that Mountfield petrol lawnmowers are the best because they have some nice designs for their garden equipment and they are really powerful. I was able to finish mowing my lawn fifteen minutes quicker, compared to my old lawnmower (which is now in the city dump). It looks really durable and reliable since I was able to do more stuff after mowing that I can hardly do with my old one.
Though I don’t have a green thumb, I still would like to create a Zen garden to compliment the interior design of my house. Building a Zen garden is like putting nature or to be more specific a miniature landscape in your own home. This area is a good place to do my yoga exercises since the ambiance motivates you to relax.
The location for the garden should be away from all the noise and buzz since you want a place of serenity. The materials needed to make a Zen garden is a rake, sand, gravel, various sizes and texture of rocks, moss, pieces of logs while mini fountains, jars and statues are optional. Pile up the area with gravel and sand then place the stones and other materials aesthetically. When finished decorating it with the given objects use the rake to make lines and curves. Place a chair near it so that you can have a seat to meditate.
